Housing

Wright House

The Wright House Program is for low to moderate income families who are in need of temporary help to meet their housing needs. Families may stay up to two years. They pay below-market rent to enable them to save money and reduce debt. Participants receive case management services, financial and budget counseling, career counseling and enroll in peer support groups.

Darryl and his two children were living in overcrowded conditions when he applied for one of CEDA’s transitional housing programs. He had just accepted a management training position with a major store chain. After entering the housing program, Darryl received budget and financial counseling to assist him in his efforts to become financially self-sufficient. Darryl began participating in the credit builder’s program to assist him in reestablishing his credit. He also opened a savings account through his credit union, began contributing to his company’s stock option program, and opened at 401K. Darryl stayed focused on his dream for a better life for him and his children. He attended one of CEDA’s First Time Home Buyer’s seminars to begin his journey to homeownership. Darryl is now looking to purchase a home in the next few months.

Dear CEDA Staff,

We are doing well. The children are healthy and prospering in school. I am practicing as a nurse after passing state boards in August. We have you to thank for the success that we are having. We are on our way to financial stability and our lives are a lot less stressful. I have 16 more weeks of school before I graduate and become an RN. I will stay at the job I have now. I’ve been at my new job as a nurse for three weeks and I’m doing well. We can’t thank you enough for the opportunity you gave us.
